Your creative writing style according to your zodiac sign

Updated: Jun 24

Besides a lot of scientific scrutinies, astrology has been a helpful guide for many people of many cultures since the Babylonian time period. For thousands of years, astrology has been used as a tool, not to predict life, but to help guide the way.

I like to think of astrology as reading a book review prior to reading the book. The review changes nothing about the book, its plot, or your interpretation of it. It just gives you an idea of what's going to play out.

That being said, if you've ever wanted to write a book or become a published author learning about how your zodiac sign affects your writing can benefit the creative process dramatically. Read on for a brief, astrological take on your creative process.

Aries: The God of War

Aries writers tend to not fear writing about things that others only think of. Aries are very passionate, and it's no secret that this sign can have some extra anger at times. Aries writers know how to channel all of their passions with words. These are the writers who write the best battles and fighting scenes. Aries prefer to write in solitude. Like many writers, they can get very upset if their creative process is interrupted.

Quentin Tarantino and Tom Clancy are both Aries...

Taurus: The Judge

This sign makes for a great author. Taurus people are able to observe the world in the most detailed way. They have a way of walking readers through scenes in the most realistic manner. The structure is very important to these writers. You can find Taurus cuddled up with snacks while writing.

William Shakespeare and Lena Waithe both have suns in Taurus.

Gemini: The Messenger

Gemini is ruled by Mercury, making them the communicator of the zodiac. No sign can compete with Gemini when it comes to the craft of words. Gemini's are great at multitasking. Gemini's who are able to properly channel their creative energies, and complete tasks, can rule the world. Gemini's have the ability to write in any environment, a superpower that not many writers possess.

Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Kanye West, Prince, Lauryn Hill, and Anne Franke are all Geminis, just to name a few.

Cancer: The Chariot

This water sign has the ability to submerge themselves deeply into their work. With their sensitive, and sometimes troubled souls, Cancers are able to go deep beyond the surface. They dive into their reservoirs of creativity and pull out treasures that they turn into words. Cancers tend to look for themselves in their own work. They work in isolation using their tears as sustenance.

Solange Knowles, Assata Shakur, and Helen Keller are a few of my favorite Cancer writers.

Leo: The Great

In astrology, Leo rules the 5th house, the house of creativity. Leos take great pride in everything they do, which is showcased in their work. They write to be epic, to be remembered. Leos also know how to have FUN while being creative, which also shows in their work.

J.K. Rowling is a Leo, also the late and great rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Virgo: The Nit-Picker

Virgo is a sign also ruled by Mercury. Meaning they have quite the way with words. Virgos are also extremely analytical which allows them to be very detailed writers. Virgos are great at connecting little puzzle pieces with their words. A Virgo's work can be kind of warped and horrid but amazing and intellectual. Virgos like to write in clean and organized environments, with a million pens, and a million post-its, and the temperature of the room as to be exactly how they like it.

Stephen King is a Virgo...

Libra: The Artist

Libras are ruled by Venus. Meaning they bring beauty to things, including their writing. Libras can be known for being somewhat superficial. However, that's just a part of their facade. Libras are actually able to get deep into the psyches of others which shows in their work. Libras are overall artists and make great poets. All they need is a beautiful environment and their phone by their side to write masterpieces.

R.L. Stine and Rupi Kaur are both Libras.

Scorpio: The Dragon

Scorpios write like they do everything else, with extreme intensity. Scorpios are absolute masters at taking their own experiences and turning them into works of art. They can transfer darkness into magic. On the other hand, they can take fears and project them into their work in a way that can haunt you for years. Scorpios write to make sense of their own existence. They write to cope. Scorpios have a tendency to shut everythin
